Long time gone

Almost 2 years away from DA...way too long.  Following the death of my beloved father in October 2006, the creativity side took a major blow.  Just recently our daughter moved to another city and it's time to start gardening and creating jewelry and artwork again. These activities will help fill the void left by Katy, my true soulmate and friend who I miss so very much.  Time to channel those feelings of rejoicing (that she is adjusting to life on her own no holds barred) and loss (all the times we spent together sharing our days and thoughts and driving around town listening to music and grocery shopping together). We just got back yesterday from a great holiday to Wear's Valley, TN. The four of us (my hubby Bill, daughter Katy, her friend Ben and myself) left Friday night and got to Columbia, SC late that evening to crash for an early departure Saturday.  Just before getting to Asheville, NC, we jogged off onto the Blue Ridge Parkway for stunning views and climbing the roads to 6,600 foot elevations.  We drove through Cherokee, and then on through Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge to Wear's Valley.  We had a fantastic cabin on the top of a mountain with beautiful valley and mountain views.  The weather was terrific, so the "kids" got to take the trolley ev
